Ark Build promote a sustainable approach to construction and we see it as our responsibility as a main contractor to support and improve the communities in which we build.
We are committed to the protection and enhancement of the environment and built heritage by minimising the impact of our activities and instruct and train our staff and supply chain accordingly. All are encouraged to consider the impact of their own actions on the environment whilst undertaking their day to day duties and to pay serious attention to transport, the minimisation of waste, the segregation and recycling of waste reduction, the purchasing and processing of resources in an effective manner and the limiting of carbon emissions.
Our award scheme for the active re-use of materials on site has had a tremendous impact on staff and sub-contractors’ awareness of the need to recycle together with the obvious benefits of sustainability. This is now a mandatory discipline on all projects.
Ark Build has achieved accreditation to the ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management System and our Environmental Policy forms an integral part of our business.
