The building is a 20th Century Grade II listed building, nationally renowned as an example of art-deco architecture.
The majority of the Grade II listed historic building was built in 1936 and was designed in the art-deco “Ocean Liner” style by architects Burnet, Tait and Lorne.The school was Listed as a building of special architectural interest on 6th July 1981.

Work to the Burlington building has involved the overhaul and repair of the Crittal windows complete replacement of the asphalt roof and concrete, stonework and brickworks repairs. In addition work has been carried out to the caretakers house including refurbishment of the roof and installation of crittal windows.

The works commenced during the school summer holiday period and are continuing following the commencement of the new school year.

All of our personnel working on or needing to visit this site have had enhanced CRB checks conducted. We have also managed and facilitated the checks for all subcontractors.

 

This key project is being delivered on behalf of Royal London, commenced in January 2009 and is scheduled for completion May 2009.

The contract, valued at approximately £700k, sees complete refurbishment of 2 warehouses, approximately 10000 square feet in size. Works undertaken/to be completed include new roofing, roof lights, electrical installations, redecorations and general repairs  

This contract was delivered in three phases.

Phase 1 involved complete external repair and refurbishment of Southend Combined Courts, taking in installation of replacement doors and windows, external cleaning, re-roofing, environmental improvements and decorating

Phase 2 saw refurbishment and upgrading of the Justice Common Room, Crown Court Office and eight staff WC’s.

Phase 3 took in refurbishment of Crown Court Room 1 and Magistrates Court 3.

This key project was delivered in an efficient, client-considerate matter. All phases were completed to a high quality, on time and within budget.

This project was, again, completed in three phases.

Phase 1 involved comprehensive external refurbishment of four light industrial units located on Laker Road, Rochester, Kent. Windows were replaced, general repairs and redecoration undertaken and profile steel sheeting specialist treated. Following this, three units were completely refurbished internally.

Phase 2 involved complete external refurbishment of a further five light industrial units, again seeing replacement of windows, specialist treatment of profile steel sheeting, general repairs and redecoration.

Phase 3 saw complete internal refurbishment of one industrial unit.

This programme of work has modernised to a high standard this previously tired and dated Industrial Estate. This example demonstrates the versatility and capability of the Ark Build plc Team.

All work was completed on time and to budget, with minimal disruption achieved to tenants trading from the Estate.

Phase 2 of our work on the Warners Estate, Walthamstowe E17 saw complete internal and external refurbishment of 29 properties.

This strategically important project forms part of a programme of refurbishment to 650 properties following a transfer of stock from the Warners Charity to Circle Anglia Housing Association.

Significant works were completed on time and within budget, in a customer-focused communicative manner, with Ark Build’s Resident Liaison Officer working closely with the client and residents of the refurbished properties to achieve agreed schedules.
