Ark Build’s health and safety culture is driven from our Company Directors throughout the entire workforce. It is of paramount importance to us and we take every measure to ensure the safety of our staff, immediate stakeholders and the public.
We maintain an exemplary safety record both on and off-site. We have a robust Health and Safety System and CHAS, Exor and SafeContractor accreditations.
We also hold the Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) accreditation.
We employ a Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental team led by HSQE Manager, Erica Rodell. We also engage external consultants, Briley Consulting, who assist us in ensuring our systems remain compliant and up to date with all current legislation and Health and Safety Mentor who carry out independent safety audits of our sites.
Our Site Managers manage and communicate all Health and Safety procedures to on-site operatives on a daily/weekly basis. This includes holding a copy of our Health and Safety Policy on-site, undertaking regular briefings and conducting necessary inspection checks and tool box talks.
All our Site Managers are SMSTS and First Aid qualified and hold DBS Enhanced security clearance.
We understand how intrusive building work can be and are sensitive to the needs of building users and residents, especially in situations where the users or residents may be vulnerable. Around 70% of our construction projects are delivered within occupied properties so we are well used to managing the risks associated with this type of work in houses, flats and common part areas of multiple occupied buildings.
