Ark Build PLC tendered for contract to transform a former garage site into nine 3-bed homes for the London Borough of Newham for Affordable Rent in central Plaistow.

The project was awarded to Ark Build PLC under a JCT Design & Build 2016 Contract. The scheme consists of nine affordable rented houses – all of which have three bedrooms and private rear gardens. The clients requirements for the residential units were to comply with the London SPG sizes:

• 5 No. 3 bedroom 5 person 3-storey townhouses @ 108.8m2 for affordable rent.
• 2 No. 3 bedroom 5 person duplexes in a 4 storey block @ 102.6m2 for affordable rent.
• 2 No. 3 bedroom 5 person duplexes in a 4 storey block @ 94.8m2 for affordable rent.
• Total floor area = 944.8m2

The modern terraces all have their own private gardens, meeting the need for quality family homes in the borough. Doherty Road is a quiet side street and as part of our work, we have also constructed another number of properties in Stacey Road for the same client.

The site was registered under the Considerate Constructors Scheme, constantly receiving Performance Level: Very Good
